How do I join?

To use mig33, you'll need a mobile phone that can run Java and can access the internet (MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0 with access to the internet by GPRS, 1X or 3G). If your phone can play games and view internet pages, you’ll most likely have a phone that's compatible with mig33.

Start now. Register.

It only takes a few minutes to register your mig33 account on our WAP site. Simply point your mobile phone browser to http://wap.mig33 com and select 'Register mig33 Account'.

You will be prompted to enter your Username, a Password, and your Mobile Number. (Make sure that you enter your mobile number together with the international call code for your country.)

NOTE:

  • If it has not already been activated, you will need to have GPRS activated on your SIM card in order to download mig33 onto your phone. Simply contact your network provider to activate it and have the WAP setting sent to your mobile. This WAP setting allows you to browse WAP pages, such as the mig33 site.

DOWNLOAD & INSTALLATION

There are a few ways you can download and install mig33 to your phone.

Get from the WAP site

You can directly install mig33 onto your mobile phone through your phone's browser. All you need to do is use your phone's browser to go to http://wap.mig33.com , scroll down the page and select ‘Download mig33'. The WAP page will prompt you to download the most suitable version for your phone type.

Your phone will then download mig33, a process that may take up to two minutes. Once the download is completed, you will be prompted to install the application and run mig33 for the first time.

NOTE:

  • Some phones may require a second internet setting to connect to mig33. This is usually referred to as the ‘Internet GPRS' setting. Simply contact your network provider to arrange for this setting on your phone. Visit our Help Pages on the website www.mig33.com for more information.

* If you have trouble connecting, please make sure that your phone is set up correctly for Internet Access. Read more

Transfer from Desktop to Phone

Alternatively, you can upload the mig33 application file (.jar and .jad) to your computer.

These files are attached to this zip file, and there are three versions of mig33 contained within this zip file:

  • mig33 version 3.0 lite has the reduced mobile feature set (not able to share photos and view user profiles using the mobile phone) Generally this is compatible with phones that are only Java midp 1.0 and above.

  • mig33 version 3.0 Beta (signed) has the complete feature set. Generally this is compatible with phones that are Java midp 2.0 and above. A signed midlet is a trusted application and this means that your phone will not ask you for permission everytime you log into and use mig33. This is still in beta and we hope to launch the full version shortly.

  • mig33 version 3.0 Beta (unsigned) has the complete feature set. Generally this is compatible with phones that are Java midp 2.0 and above. It is unsigned as some phone models may not accept signed applications. This is still in beta and we hope to launch the full version shortly.

If you are unsure, check your phone manufacturer's website or handbook.
All features on our website are accessible to all users.

Based on the descriptions above, transfer the most appropriate version to your phone via cable or bluetooth.

NOTE:

  • The mig33 application may be saved under menu names such as games, downloads, java, applications, or extras in your phone.

After download and installation, you'll be prompted to run mig33 for the first time.

Activate your mig33 Account

After registering, you will receive an Activation Code. When you first login to mig33, you should enter the Activation Code to get full use of mig33, including our VoIP call services, SMS and chat rooms.

Congratulations!

KNOWN ISSUES

Screen flashing
For some older phones (notably those running earlier versions of Java MIDP1.0 or lower); the phone screens may flash intermittently when running the mig33 application. If this occurs, this means your phone is not fully compatible to work with mig33. mig33 works well on most models of phones, generally the later model Java MIDP1.0, higher MIDP2.0 versions and Symbian systems).

Mobile Internet security settings
For some handsets, you will be prompted to allow your phone to access the mobile Internet each time you login into mig33. Some handsets have an option that allows the user to allow the phone to access the mobile Internet all the time, without being prompted each time. Check the connectivity and internet settings on your handset, to see if this applies. For more information on Mobile Internet Settings, read here

Activation Code
If you have not received your activation code, please email us at contact@mig33.com and provide your username and request for activation code.
