This software allows very extended preciscion in an integer division problem. Simply stated, a fraction that has as its numerator an integer and as its denominator an integer done using this software will amaze you!

Welcome to version 1 of BitBox. This is a very simple program written in the C language and compiled under several compilers. The very first version was compiled under MSVC++1.0. MSVC++1.0 is a 16 bit compiler, but the executables it produces do work with Pentium computers. So, BitBox does work even it is run on a new computer. Other compilers used are DJGPP, GCC, and LCC. These are great 32 bit compilers. There were no modifications made to BitBox to get it to compile under these programs. And currently BitBox is a DOS box application. A windows version should be ready in a few weeks or less.

I. Program Operation

BitBox is very very easy to use. If you can follow simple directions, operation should be extremely easy. Beginners to computers and computer software should realize there are a finite number of digits that may be stored in a memory location. In other words, a maximum of 9 digits can be entered in for both the numerator and denominator. Negative numbers are allowed, but do not enter any numbers with decimal points. BitBox does not accept decimal points. Future versions of BitBox may include facilities for decimal points.
Simply follow the instructions that are displayed on your monitor and you should have no trouble at all.

II. Bugs

The program did crash once on my Pentium 200mmx machine. An overflowing integer variable was the cause. I fixed this, but another crash occured later on. Work is in progress to fix this. But don't worry, the crash did not force a reboot on my Pentium200mmx, just a restart of the program.

III. Shareware, Freeware, & Public Domain and et all.

I have not officially entered BitBox in any of the above categories, but the program is not free. This is a simple algorithm, but I have not found any software on the internet that is this small & quick! Most calculators do not display more than 10 or 13 digits. This is BitBox's main feature! Enter the preciscion you desire! But be warned, 999,999 digits of preciscion on my Pentium200mmx use up 9 minutes of CPU & HUMAN time. 111,111 digits 1 minute and so on.

If you like the simpicity of this software and continue to use it for any period of time, please mail a check or money order for $15.00 U.S. money. I will accept foreign monies but the amount must the same as $15.00 US money.

Another $10.00 if you want the source code. But state that you want the source code so I will understand what you want.

BitBox executable $15.00
Source Code in C $10.00
