Installing the demo database will give you a better conceptual overview of how the system works.

The database structure has been kept deliberately simple since the tutorial aims to teach how to use Dynamic Mailer (ODBC) - good database design is outwith the scope of this tutorial!

The database belongs to a fictional stationery company called Paperweight Stationery Suppliers Inc. It consists of 2 tables - one of customers and one of products.

1.	You will need Microsoft (R) Access 97 or later. Open up sample.mdb (located in the sample folder where Dynamic Mailer (ODBC) was installed.
2.	To allow people with older versions of Access to use the database it was saved in Access 97 format. If you have a more recent version such as Access 2000 you will be prompted to convert the database - please do so.
3.	Open up the table tblCustomers by double clicking on it.
4.	Change the value of the Email_Address field to YOUR email address for each customer (after all you want to see the - results don't you?!)
5.	The structure of the database has been kept deliberately simple. This is a table of customers for a fictional company called Paperweight Stationery Suppliers inc. It shows the company name, main contact, the total balance of their account (what they owe) and the amount due for 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, older and their average monthly spend.
6.	Create an ODBC driver as follows: Ensure database is closed. Click the Start Button and go to Settings -> Control Panel -> ODBC Data Sources Click "Add" Select Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) - if this driver is not available check your installation of Access. Click Finish Enter "DMDemo" as the Data Source Name Enter "Dynamic Mailer (ODBC) Demo" as the Description Click Select and point to the sample.mdb database. Click Ok twice and close Control Panel.
