Introduction to Auction Monitor

Auction Monitor is a tool that will help you keep an eye on the items that interest you on ebay™. Every time you are connected to the internet, the Auction Monitor will start watching the auctions you select and will notify you every time the bidding amount is changed.

How to Accomplish Tasks (Step by Step)

  Monitoring an auction

1.     Get the ebay™ auction number from the ebay™ site

2.     Open the setup window by clicking on the setup button on the toolbar

3.     Click on the Auction List tab

4.     Write down the number in the Item # box.

5.     Press the Add button

6.     To add more than one item repeat step 4 and 5

7.     Press OK to save your entries

Setting-up the timer

1.     Open the setup window by clicking on the setup button on the toolbar.

2.     Click on the Notification tab.

3.     Enter the timer value in the three cases in the format Hours : Minutes : Seconds

4.     Press OK to save your entry.

Opening the auction in the default browser
  1. Double click on the auction row to open the auction in the default browser window.

Setting-up the notification

Method One

1.     Open the setup window by clicking on the setup button on the toolbar.

2.     Click on the Notification tab.

3.     Press on the Play Sound button to play a sound when an auction value is updated

4.     Press on the Pop-up Window button to open the Auction Log window when an auction value is updated

5.     Press OK to save your entries

 

Method Two

1.     Using the Play Sound and Window buttons on the toolbar you can set the notification method.

2.     Please note that these settings are not saved.

Auction Log

Every change in the price of an auction is recorded with a time stamp in the auction log window.

Saving the Grid Contents

To save the contents of the grid press the Save button on the task bar. The data will be saved in the application directory in a file named "Grid Data.CSV". the comma delimited format or "CSV" is recongnized MS Excel.

Demo Version
  The demo version is limited to :
  1. Monitoring one auction only.
  2. The setting of the timer is preset to 15 seconds.
  3. The Auction Log function is disabled.
  4. The Save Data function is disabled.
