THE SEARCH BUTTON/SEARCH SCREEN Click on the “Search” button from any
view in the Data Viewer to bring up the Search Inventory screen. This
screen is not an actual “view” into your data, but rather a data
input screen. This screen is where you can enter
keywords, phrases, or any other alphanumeric text for which Harbor will
search your system inventory and/or custom user database for potential matches. The Description field at the top indicates which search options are currently selected.
The Data Display of the Search screen
contains a single editable field called “Search Text”. This is where
you enter the words or phrases for which you want to search.
Separate multiple search terms with
commas. For example, if you
wanted to find all MP3 files created in 1999 that refer to blue eyes,
you might type in “mp3,blue eyes,1999” (without the quotes). Search screen buttons Once you have typed in your search text,
click again on the “Search” button to execute the search. When the
search has completed (less than a second to no more than a couple of
seconds, depending on the immensity of your databases), The Data Viewer
will display an Inventory Detail view of your search results. The “Cancel” button simply exits the
Search screen and returns the previously displayed view. |
